Ten former rebels from Arayat are being given a chance to rebuild their livelihood after continuous rains and bad weather destroyed their vegetable crops, leaving them with little to no income.

The group sought assistance from the Pampanga provincial government after the weather-related losses affected their source of livelihood and their ability to provide for their daily needs.

Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda personally met with the former rebels, checked on their condition and listened to the challenges they faced following the destruction of their crops.

In response, Pineda committed to providing them with a livelihood program to help them start anew and establish an additional source of income.

The provincial government will also provide free vegetable seeds, giving the beneficiaries a fresh start in rebuilding their small-scale farming activities and restoring their livelihood.

The assistance underscores the provincial government’s continuing efforts to help former rebels reintegrate into their communities and regain economic stability, particularly when unforeseen disasters threaten their hard-earned means of living.

For the 10 beneficiaries, the support offers more than immediate assistance—it provides an opportunity to plant again, earn again and move forward with renewed hope.
