Pampanga, PRA seal retiree partnership

The Provincial Government of Pampanga and the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) have signed a CARE Connect Partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen support, services, and community integration for Special Resident Retiree’s Visa (SRRV) holders in the province.

The agreement was signed on June 25 by PRA General Manager and CEO Roberto Z. Zozobrado and Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, with Pampanga 2nd District Representative and former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo also attending the ceremony.

The partnership aims to enhance programs and opportunities for foreign retirees while promoting local development through stronger engagement and investments. It also seeks to position Pampanga as a premier retirement destination.

Under the MOU, both parties will promote the province as a retirement hub, designate a focal person for the SRRV Care and Monitoring Program, improve coordination between retirees and local communities, expand PRA-accredited merchant partners offering discounts and special privileges, and support retirees through health, wellness, social, and community activities.

The two sides also discussed plans to establish what is envisioned to be the country’s largest premium retirement village, further strengthening Pampanga’s appeal as a retirement destination.

Governor Pineda said the partnership is expected to generate more employment opportunities for Kapampangans. The PRA, meanwhile, reported that around 2,700 foreign nationals—including South Koreans, Americans, Indians, and Chinese—are currently residing in the province.
