President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led a situation briefing on Monday on the impact of the enhanced southwest monsoon on Central Luzon, focusing on the extent of flooding, damage and the condition of affected families.

The briefing also tackled short-, medium- and long-term measures to address recurring flooding in the region, including dredging and declogging waterways, and the construction of floodgates, pumping stations and sabo dams.

Marcos assured continued coordination between the national and local governments to speed up relief efforts and address the region’s persistent flooding.
