The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry-North Luzon (PCCI-NL) has expressed support in principle for the proposed Pax Silica project, while calling for strict transparency, environmental responsibility and meaningful Filipino participation.
In a statement, PCCI-NL said the large-scale industrial initiative could attract domestic and foreign investments, create quality jobs, expand opportunities for local suppliers, promote technology transfer and strengthen critical-mineral and semiconductor supply chains.
The chamber highlighted North Luzon’s strategic advantages, including access to raw materials, major ports, airports and expressways, established industrial zones, reliable utilities, government investment support and a skilled workforce.
PCCI-NL stressed that these advantages should drive Filipino industrial transformation rather than simply benefit international investors.
It called for safeguards covering governance and accountability, Filipino labor and skills development, local supply chains, environmental and community stewardship, Philippine value retention and financial transparency.
The statement follows growing support for Pax Silica from business groups in the region, including the Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry. (Noel G. Tulabut)
