PPC golf tourney ensures continuity of 2 media programs, draws strong multi-sector support

The success of the Pampanga Press Club’s 3rd Invitational Golf Tournament held at Pradera Verde Golf & Country Club on April 15 is set to sustain two key programs of the organization, strengthening its initiatives for campus journalism training and member welfare.

Pampanga Press Club President Lincoln M. Baluyut expressed gratitude for the continued support of private corporations, government agencies, and individuals who helped sustain the club’s advocacies.

The tournament gathered participants and sponsors from government, business, and national corporations, highlighting strong multi-sector collaboration.

The ceremonial tee-off was led by junior golfer Ronee Claire Dungca, who will compete in the USwing Mojing Junior World Championship in San Diego, California this July, alongside Lubao Councilor Jayson Victorino, Clark International Airport Corporation Director Victor Manuel representing President Jojit Alcazar, Bases Conversion and Development Authority Senior Vice President Mark Torres representing Engr. Jake Bingcang, Bureau of Customs–Port of Clark District Collector Jairus Reyes, NBI Regional Director Atty. Joel Tovera, and Philippine Sports Commission Commissioner Fritz Gaston.

Also participating were Jack Uy, Chairman of Savers Group Holdings Inc., with sons Jansen Ivan Uy (President and COO) and Justine Shaun Uy (Executive Vice President for Hospitality), as well as Arni Valdes and Rick Wilkerson representing JDN Realty Group. Officials from the National Bureau of Investigation and Bureau of Customs also joined the event.

PPC Chairman Noel Tulabut said the club’s growing partnerships reflect how professional media practices have strengthened trust and collaboration over the years, enabling both program expansion and support for aspiring journalists.

Since launching its golf tournament in 2024 with fewer than 30 partners, PPC has expanded its network significantly, now backed by a wide roster of sponsors from national government agencies, local government units, and private corporations.

The 2026 edition was backed by a broad coalition of sponsors, including Pampanga Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Vice Governor Dennis Pineda, Converge, Senator Win Gatchalian, Lavelle Trading, PLDT Home, and former President and 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as Gold Sponsors.

Silver sponsors included JDN Realty, Savers Industrial, NLEX Corporation, GCash, PAGCOR, Bureau of Customs–Port of Clark, and DPWH, while Bronze sponsors included Museum of Philippine Arts and Culture (MOPAC), SM Development Corporation, Maynilad, Filinvest, BDO, Clark Water, and several LGUs across Pampanga, Tarlac, and nearby provinces.

Hole sponsors included multiple local government units, law enforcement agencies, and regional offices, including the Police Regional Office 3 and DPWH Region 3, among others.

Special sponsors included Mekeni, Ultra MRF, SM Hotels and Convention Corp., Park Inn by Radisson Clark, Lanson Place Manila, Unilab, Philippine Sports Commission, Coca-Cola, Oishi, Beautéderm, Hann Resorts, and several political leaders and educational institutions.

The event underscored the growing synergy between media, government, and the private sector, reinforcing PPC’s commitment to strengthening journalism programs while fostering partnerships that support community development.
