PRC rolls into Olongapo floodwaters

The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Olongapo City Chapter deployed a Humvee and rescue boat to Barangay Sta. Rita, Olongapo City, on August 29, 2026, following severe flooding in the area.

The floodwaters, which earlier rose above head level, had subsided to below the knee when PRC responders arrived. Four personnel were deployed to navigate affected areas, assess conditions, and provide assistance to residents.

PRC Chairman and CEO Richard J. Gordon said the organization’s specialized water rescue assets enable responders to safely reach heavily flooded communities and provide immediate assistance.

The PRC Operations Center may be reached at 143 or (02) 8790-2300 for emergency assistance and community support.
