Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II emphasized that private schools have the authority to decide on the most appropriate learning modality for their students and personnel during periods of inclement weather.

Schools may continue face-to-face classes or adopt alternative learning modalities, depending on the actual weather conditions in their respective areas, as well as the safety and welfare of students and teachers.

Schools that are not directly affected by the prevailing weather conditions may continue face-to-face classes based on their own assessment and decision.

However, Lazatin urged school administrators to exercise caution and responsibility in making such decisions and to ensure clear and timely communication with parents, guardians, teachers, and learners regarding the learning modality to be implemented.

The mayor stressed that while learning must continue, the safety, health, and welfare of students and school personnel remain the top priority.
