SENATOR Robin Padilla is leading a popular survey commissioned by Disneyland and conducted by Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and the Seven Dwarfs. He garnered a whooping 48.4-percent nod from those surveyed that include his wife Mariel Rodriguez, his celebrity-daughter Kylie Padilla, his brother BB. Gandanghari and some 1,150 of his fellow DDS nincompoops out of the 1,200 surveyed.
Well, we cannot blame those surveyed as the great Robin has shown his brilliance in the ongoing impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte. His savvy during the judges’ clarificatory questioning makes him a cut above the rest.
Because of his smartness, wisdom, intelligence and brilliance, the bad boy of Philippine cinema has literally transformed himself as the “court jester” of the Senate impeachment trial as millions of Filipinos watching over social media, watching on national television, watching live, listening over radio, the prosecution team, the defense team and even his fellow senators are now eagerly waiting for him to stand up and deliver his “manifestations” across the august halls of the Senate.
Are Robin and his allies in Senators Allan Peter and Pia Cayetano, Loren Legarda, Imee Marcos and Camille Villar not aware that the senator, who graduated from the University of Prison, is now virtually the laughingstock of the impeachment trial?
During Day 9 of the trial, visibly irritated, Robin shouted that he was interrupted saying, “Bawal po ang ginagawa nitong nasa harap natin, nagkokomento-komento… hindi po sila allowed mag-ingay, korte po ito! I was interrupted!”
His explosive outburst forced presiding officer Senator Chiz Escudero to restore order.
In the same trial day, and in the same manifestation, he told the prosecution led by Representative Jerville Luistro to stop being one-sided as he is obviously not aware on how a trial works and clearly not informed on what the role of the prosecutors is in a trial.
All human beings, including all his family members, friends, supporters, allies, critics, fellow senators and even those who have already died 10,000 years ago, found his one-sided manifestation humorous as the very fundamental role of the prosecution is to be biased towards proving an accused guilty.
Throughout the impeachment trial, the number one elected senator in 2022 has repeatedly defended his shameful arguments by proudly crediting his wide criminal past and by making it obvious that he is mal-educated. Sarcasm fills his every utterance as if he is knowledgeable in law and in everything.
“Lagi ko pong sinasabi, paulit-ulit, hindi po ako abogado. Ako po ay madalas akusado. Ako po ay ex-convict,” he proudly claimed.
In one instance, Padilla, looking very proud and looking full of confidence, tried to grill Luistro on the credibility of NBI’s lawyer Jeremy Lotoc and NBI agent John Mark Calilung claiming they were facing charges of perjury and demanded a plain yes or no answer from the lead prosecutor. When Luistro pointed out that Robin was wrong as the two have no perjury cases, Robin looked silly after learning the truth.
Even on Facebook, the ignorance of the bad boy is evident. In his post, he said that justice is neutral and the duty of the prosecution is not to win but to present the truth.
“Ang hustisya po ay neutral! Ang tungkulin ng prosecution (piskal) ay hindi para manalo, kundi para sa katotohanan at proteksyon ng inosente. Ang tungkulin naman ng defense (tagapagtanggol) ay ang pagtiyak sa karapatang pantao at balanse sa kapangyarihan,” he wrote. Ang hinihingi ko ay fairness… Huwag maging one-sided,” he ignorantly posted.
Recently, in an interview, Robin went berserk again and proved once and for all that he really is certified dumb and stupid when he boldly asserted that the prosecution, defense and impeachment judges should be fair and just.
He said, “Ang sinabi dyan, hindi porket prosecution kayo dapat puro conviction no! Dapat ang ginagawa nila ay justice. Ganun din ang defense, dapat hindi puro pagtatangol sa inyong kliente, dapat ang ibigay ninyo ay hustisya. Ganun din ang judge.”
Robin furthered, “Tayo ay naka-angkla sa hustisya. Siguro yung mga abogado na nagsasabi nyan ay ginawa na nilang medalya yung conviction which is very wrong. Mali yun… kahit pag-aralan nila mismo bumalik sila. Ako di ako abogado, hindi ganyan ginawa ang batas, di ganyan ginawa ang hustisya. Hindi ka nilagay diyan para idiin ang tao—nilagay ka diyan para magbigay ng hustisya.”
Wow… is this the person voted by 26,612,434 Filipinos in 2022? What are his lawyer and staff doing? How about his allies at the senate, they should be concerned that somebody in their side is actually making a mockery of the impeachment proceedings. They should interfere as the entire impeachment trial is being beamed worldwide.
There is a saying that goes like this – “More Talk, More Mistake. Less Talk, Less Mistake. No Talk, No Mistake” – especially to a person who knows nothing at all.
I have to take my hat off to Senator Lito Lapid – Pampanga’s Best… no talk, therefore, no mistake. He just listens and never grandstands. As to Robin? He is trying hard to grandstand and trying hard to impress Sara, maybe his wife and children, his fellow senators and his fellow DDS who I am pretty sure applaud every time he takes the floor.
Padilla is leading a popular survey undertaken before the impeachment trial… Robin will be outside of the top 100 in the same survey after the impeachment trial.
Robin is the perfect example of an idiot trying to become the best idiot of all time.
