Search and rescue operations continue at the site of the collapsed under-construction building

Based on the latest report from the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO), a total of 24 individuals have been successfully rescued from the incident as of 2:30 p.m. on May 24, 2026. Authorities said validation and coordination efforts are still ongoing to complete the accounting of all affected individuals.

Meanwhile, the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) has already provided initial assistance to 35 individuals affected by the incident, including financial aid, food, medical assistance, and psychosocial support. Additional intervention programs are also being assessed to address the needs of the victims.

According to the CSWDO, rescued and affected individuals are set to return to their respective home provinces and communities, including San Jose, Bulacan (9); Urdaneta, Pangasinan (1); the Bicol Region (15); Antique (1); Sorsogon (1); Sapangbato, Angeles City (1); and Balibago, Angeles City (3).

The city government said transportation assistance, financial support, food, and psychosocial services will also be provided to ensure the safe return of the affected individuals and to continue monitoring their condition.

Angeles City Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II continues to personally oversee the entire operation as Responsible Officer (RO) of the Incident Command System (ICS) to ensure continuous and organized coordination among all responding agencies.

Under the Unified Command System, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) is leading the search, rescue, and retrieval operations, with the DRRMO handling logistics and operational support, the Philippine National Police (PNP) maintaining security and crowd control, and the City Information Office (CIO) managing official public communications.
