Senate President Win Gatchalian is calling for a stronger crackdown on individuals who allegedly groom and recruit minors to commit violence, following findings by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

Gatchalian urged the NBI, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and other law enforcement agencies to identify, investigate, and prosecute individuals targeting vulnerable children.

He said perpetrators who exploit minors and use them to carry out violence pose a serious threat to communities and must be held accountable.

Gatchalian also noted that the Senate is set to tackle in plenary a proposed social media ban for children below 16 years old.

He said he will continue supporting programs such as the School-Based Mental Health Program and Parent Effectiveness Service Program to promote the welfare and protection of Filipino children.
