Around 80 finishers of the Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES), together with their parents, expressed gratitude to Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, the City Public Employment Service Office (PESO), and the Department of Labor and Employment for providing young Angeleños with work opportunities through the city’s youth employment initiative.

During their culminating activity, the beneficiaries thanked the program for helping them gain meaningful work experience and financial assistance during their studies. They also acknowledged Mayor Jon’s approach of accommodating qualified walk-in applicants, which they said helped promote equal opportunity and reduced reliance on patronage politics.
The same principle of merit-based selection is expected to be reflected in admissions at the City College of Angeles, where qualified and deserving Angeleño students are given priority based on complete requirements and eligibility.
City Information Officer Jay Pelayo IV, who represented Mayor Jon Lazatin at the culminating activity, emphasized that the approach aims to ensure fair access to opportunities for education and employment.
Recently, CCA also gained international recognition from the World University Rankings for Innovation and received a 5-Star Excellence rating in its Events Management program from the Asia Pacific Institute for Events Management, further strengthening its academic standing.
