The Angeles City Health Office, through the Angeles City Primary HIV Care Clinic – Bale Angeleño, spearheaded the HIV Awareness Volleyball League on May 16, 2026 at the Barangay Malabanias Covered Court in line with the observance of the International AIDS Candlelight Memorial.
Guided by Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, the activity carried the theme “We Remember, We Rise, We Lead,” aiming to strengthen public awareness on HIV prevention and promote a stigma-free community through sports and education.

The event brought together participants in a friendly volleyball competition designed to encourage camaraderie and healthy lifestyles, while reinforcing key messages on HIV prevention, including regular testing, access to PrEP, and proper healthcare services.
City health officials emphasized the importance of sustained information campaigns to help reduce stigma and discrimination, especially among the youth.
The Angeles City government continues to urge the public to stay informed, practice responsible health habits, and support inclusive efforts toward a more compassionate and understanding community.
