Tarlac Governor. Christian Tell Yap served as guest of honor at the opening of Taiwan Expo 2026 in the Philippines, held Sept. 17 at the SMX Convention Center Manila.

The three-day trade exhibition, which ran until September 19, brought together 125 Taiwanese companies showcasing innovations and technologies across artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, renewable energy, healthcare, agriculture, food and consumer products.

Yap attended the event with his wife, Melissa Yeung-Yap, and highlighted the potential of Taiwan’s innovations to support economic growth, trade partnerships and smart solutions for Tarlac.

In a Facebook post, Yap said he was honored to serve as guest of honor and to see Taiwan’s cutting-edge innovations and sustainable technologies firsthand.

The expo provided a venue for Filipino and Taiwanese businesses to connect, explore opportunities and develop stronger commercial and technology partnerships.

With solutions spanning smarter industries, accessible healthcare and sustainable technologies, Taiwan Expo 2026 underscored the role of innovation and collaboration in strengthening business ties between the Philippines and Taiwan.
