Young Angeleños recently took part in a Kapampángan Language Class and Children’s Library Tour organized by the Angeles City Library and Sínúpan Singsing Center for Kapampángan Cultural Heritage, in partnership with the Angeles City Tourism Office.

The activity introduced primary school-age children to the Children’s Library and its learning resources while promoting literacy, education, language, and cultural heritage.

The children participated in storytelling, video songs, personal hygiene activities, paper airplane-making, and interactive library games. They also learned basic Kapampángan words and simple expressions through an introductory language lesson.

Organizers emphasized the importance of exposing children to their local language at an early age, particularly as younger generations increasingly use different languages in their daily lives.

Beyond communication, the Kapampángan language carries the community’s history, culture, memories, and identity. Introducing it to children provides an early connection to their heritage in a fun and engaging way.

The program is part of the Angeles City Government’s continuing support for initiatives that encourage children to read, learn, appreciate their language, and connect with their cultural roots under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Jon” B. Lazatin II.
