DPWH: NO FLOOD CONTROL DOCUMENTS LOST IN BRS FIRE INCIDENT

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) confirmed that no documents related to the ongoing investigation into flood control anomalies were affected by the fire that broke out at its Bureau of Research and Standards (BRS) building on Tuesday.

In a statement, the DPWH said the BRS facility, which handles research, pilot testing, and policy formulation for government infrastructure projects, was the site of the blaze.

Initial findings point to a computer unit inside the Materials Testing Division as the source of the fire after it reportedly exploded.

Authorities confirmed that no employees were injured during the incident.

The department has also dispatched an investigation team to conduct a thorough assessment of the incident, determine the full extent of the damage, and recommend measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

“The DPWH confirms that no documents related to the ongoing investigation into the flood control anomalies were in the Bureau of Research and Standards building that caught fire in Quezon City today,” the agency said.

Further updates will be released once more information becomes available, the DPWH added.
