Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has given the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) 72 hours to resolve the fatal shooting of a Korean national that occurred in broad daylight on Saturday, April 19, along Friendship Highway in Korea Town.
The victim was gunned down near a bank around 1:50 PM, with initial reports suggesting it may have been a robbery. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later declared dead. This marks the first recorded incident in Angeles City involving the death of a Korean national in a robbery-related shooting.
Deeply alarmed by the incident, Mayor Lazatin directed ACPO, under Acting City Director PCol. Joselito Villarosa Jr., to leave no stone unturned in identifying and arresting the suspect.
“We will not allow this brutal act to go unresolved. Angeles City must remain a safe place for both locals and foreigners,” Mayor Lazatin said, emphasizing the city’s commitment to maintaining public safety for residents and tourists alike.
