McDonald’s Stripes Run 2024 Breaks Records, Raises ₱1 Million for Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers

The McDonald’s Stripes Run 2024 achieved unprecedented success on December 1, 2024, at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, with 11,000 participants making it the largest turnout in the event’s 13-year history.

Launched in 2010, the McDonald’s Stripes Run has become a beloved tradition celebrating family, fitness, and community. This year, the event raised ₱1 million for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), specifically to support Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers, which provide safe and enriching spaces for children in underserved communities.

Innovation Drives Record-Breaking Success

McDonald’s Philippines credited the event’s success to innovative programming and robust digital outreach. “The McDonald’s Stripes Run has built a loyal following over the years, but we continuously strive to keep it fresh and exciting,” shared Adi Timbol-Hernandez, McDonald’s Philippines Assistant Vice President for Corporate Relations and Impact and Vice President of RMHC Philippines.

This year, McDonald’s expanded its reach by engaging with schools, fitness communities, and even pet owners, ensuring the event’s inclusivity and widespread appeal.

Fur Stripes Category Steals the Show

One of the most celebrated additions was the Fur Stripes category, where participants ran with their pets. This year saw 500 furry companions join the event, making it a standout highlight.

“The Fur Stripes category underscores McDonald’s commitment to creating feel-good moments for every member of the family—including pets,” said Timbol-Hernandez. “It’s a unique way to foster inclusivity and celebrate the bonds we share with our furry friends.”

Star-Studded Celebration

Adding star power to the festivities were celebrity families and personalities such as the Agoncillo Family (Ryan, Judy Ann, and Luna), KaladKaren, Angeline Quinto, Ysabel Ortega, Barbie Forteza, and David Licauco. Their presence electrified the crowd and showcased the event’s appeal across generations.

Supporting Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers

Proceeds from the Stripes Run will fund the expansion of Bahay Bulilit Learning Centers nationwide. These centers provide children with safe spaces to learn and play, empowering families in communities where resources are limited.

“Our goal is to give every child access to quality early education opportunities, regardless of their background. By participating in the Stripes Run, families contribute to this mission while creating lasting memories,” Timbol-Hernandez emphasized.

With its record-breaking success and meaningful cause, the McDonald’s Stripes Run 2024 once again proved to be more than just a fun run—it’s a celebration of community, compassion, and connection.
