The Philippines’ tallest Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, located within the Clark Freeport Zone, is on track for completion by the second quarter of this year, according to a statement by Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) President Jojit Alcazar.

Alcazar made the announcement following a meeting with the project management team, who arrived this week from overseas for training on the newly installed ATC equipment. The training was conducted by specialists from air traffic communication manufacturers based in Larvik, Norway, and Milan, Italy, focusing on the operations of traffic communication, navigation, and surveillance systems.

The new ATC tower, designed to become an iconic landmark, stands 18 stories highβ€”approximately 54 meters tallβ€”and will be visible to travelers using the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) or heading to Clark International Airport.

β€œThis tower will be a significant asset for the Marcos administration and will greatly enhance the air traffic control system at Clark International Airport, improving safety as we anticipate increased air travel volume,” Alcazar stated.

The new ATC tower is also expected to support the development of CIAC’s flagship projects, including a National Food Hub, a World Convention and Events Center, and a Multi-Modal Mobility Hub.

The Clark ATC project was awarded to MSV Construction and Supplies, with funding provided by CIAC’s parent company, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA). CIAC is the land development and aviation arm of the BCDA, managing prime government land surrounding Clark International Airport.
