Over 750 students of Columban College, Inc. in Olongapo City joined the Investor Education Campus Roadshow conducted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)–Tarlac Extension Office on October 22.
The activity aimed to strengthen financial literacy among senior high school and college students, helping them make informed financial decisions and recognize potential investment scams.

Key topics included personal finance management, saving and budgeting, and identifying fraudulent investment offers. Representing the SEC were Atty. Emerald L. Lansangan, Securities Counsel, and Mr. Mark M. Catacutan, Information Officer, who both served as resource speakers.
“Financial literacy is a life skill that everyone must develop early. By empowering students to understand how money works, we help them build a secure future and protect themselves from illegal investment schemes,” Atty. Lansangan emphasized.
Columban College Senior High School faculty heads Dr. Adrian Dela Cruz and Ms. Almie Virtudazo expressed their gratitude to the SEC for organizing the initiative, saying it supports their mission to develop financially responsible students.
The campus roadshow is part of the SEC Communication, Advocacy, and Network (SEC-CAN) initiative, which continues to educate and protect Filipinos—especially the youth—against deceitful investment schemes. Through these efforts, the SEC Tarlac Extension Office reaffirms its commitment to nurturing a generation of smart and vigilant investors in Central Luzon.
