Clark International Airport Corporation (CIAC) launched today, July 9, its Urban Renewal and Heritage Conservation Program with a 200-meter wall mural as its centerpiece.

Executed by multi-awarded artist Archie Oclos, the mural called TAGPUAN was completed in a short span of only ten (10) days, made challenging by the unpredictable weather which switched from scorching hot to extremely rainy – as was the day of the launch.

CIAC President and CEO Arrey Perez was proud to formally present Tagpuan, which he says has transformed the common crossroad that it has always been through the years, “but the X that marks a great new spot, a new tagpuan and landmark for our community – to be, in a word, renewed.”

Perez commended artist Archie Oclos and his team for successfully transforming the bare walls into art “which tells the story of the past and the future of CIAC.”

The CIAC chief added “we should all be very proud of this accomplishment, not because it was made with magic, but because it was made with vision, imagination, resolve, and commitment — the kind that we, in CIAC, have given to realizing our seven flagship projects so that we can build Clark as our Airport City.”

He thanked Oclos and his team for executing the CIAC story so well, and the locators and sponsors who became partners in the endeavor.
“In kicking off our urban renewal and cultural heritage program, I hope that you all see what I see: that this mural is made of what we are made of: vision, passion, grit. That is all it takes to transform a place and build a city. So let’s get used to this. Let’s continue to make magic,” Perez concluded.
