2,000 Mexico TODA Members get ₱5,000 Aid under AICS Program

Some 2,000 members of Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Associations (TODA) in the Municipality of Mexico received ₱5,000 each under the Cash Relief Assistance (CRA) of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program during the first payout held on April 16, 2026.

The distribution was conducted through the joint efforts of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office III, led by Regional Director Venus F. Rebuldela, and the local government under Mayor Rodencio “Ruding” S. Gonzales, with the support of Vice Mayor Jonathan R. Pangan.

The payout was carried out in an orderly manner, credited to the preparations of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Sharmaine Pabustan-Sigua, in coordination with DSWD personnel.

Mexico is the first municipality in Pampanga’s Third District to implement the program for tricycle drivers, a sector significantly affected by rising fuel prices and daily expenses.

Gonzales expressed his gratitude to Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and the DSWD for their continued support to vulnerable sectors, particularly those in the transport industry.

A second batch of payouts is scheduled on April 20, 2026, with an additional 1,500 beneficiaries expected to receive the same amount of assistance.

The municipal government reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining programs that help ease the financial burden of residents and support their livelihoods amid ongoing economic challenges.
