Angeles City strengthens disaster preparedness in 2nd Quarter DRRM Meeting

Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II led the 2nd Quarter meeting of the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (ACDRRMC) at the Angeles City Emergency Disaster Command Center, focusing on enhancing risk reduction and resilience efforts.

Key reports and programs discussed included the Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA), hazard mapping, and geo-tagging of trees in the Sapangbato watershed, which are vital to the city’s environmental protection and water resource management.

Officials also highlighted the ongoing implementation of barangay-level hazard mapping and risk assessments aimed at identifying vulnerable areas and strengthening community preparedness against disasters such as floods, typhoons, earthquakes, and landslides.

Lazatin emphasized the importance of data-driven and science-based planning to further improve the city’s safety and environmental programs, noting that beyond disaster response, building resilient communities remains a priority.

Under the Angeles City DRRM Plan 2026–2028, the city government continues to promote proactive, inclusive, and resilience-driven governance to ensure the safety and well-being of all Angeleños.
