The League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) has elected Tarlac Governor Christian Tell Yap as its national Vice President for Basic Education, a post he will hold until July 31, 2028.

The new officers were elected on July 25, with South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. reelected as national president, Quirino Governor Dakila Carlo Cua reelected as national chairman, and Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda chosen as the new Executive Vice President.

Also elected as Senior Vice Presidents were Governors Rodolfo Albano III (Luzon North), Luis Raymund Villafuerte Jr. (Luzon South), Arthur Defensor Jr. (Visayas), and Nilo Demerey Jr. (Mindanao), who also serves as Secretary-General. They join the LPP National Executive Board composed of regional chairpersons and members-at-large.

Governor Yap expressed his gratitude in a social media post, saying education has always been close to his heart. He vowed to push for programs that would create more opportunities for the youth and guide them toward a brighter future.

The newly elected officers of the LPP took their oath before President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Malacañan Palace on September 3, witnessed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, Special Assistant to the President Anton Lagdameo, and Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla.
