Megaworld Corporation is doubling down on tourism as it sets an ambitious target of 9,000 hotel rooms by 2030, further strengthening its position as the countryโ€™s largest hotel developer and operator. Through its hospitality arm, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, the property giant plans to open seven new hotels across its various townships nationwide over the next five years.

The new hotel lineup includes the 554-room Chancellor Hotel in Boracay Newcoast, 404-room Belmont Hotel Iloilo, 300-room Kingsford in Bacolodโ€™s The Upper East, 304-room Savoy Hotel Palawan and 313-room Paragua Sands in Paragua Coastown, 373-room Savoy Capital Town in Pampanga, and the 339-room ArcoVia Hotel in Pasig.

Currently operating 13 hotel properties with approximately 6,000 rooms in key locations such as Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, and Tagaytay, Megaworldโ€™s hospitality brands include Richmonde, Belmont, Savoy, Hotel Lucky Chinatown, Twin Lakes Hotel, Kingsford, and the newly opened Grand Westside Hotel.

The company is also integrating the 15-story Courtyard by Marriott in Iloilo into its portfolio this year, adding 326 international-branded rooms. Meanwhile, Belmont Hotel Mactan in Cebu will soon be rebranded under the Accor group as Mercure Mactan Cebu.

In a strategic move to elevate its portfolio, Megaworld has partnered with global hospitality giant Accor to convert at least five more of its homegrown hotels into international-branded properties in the next five years. This development will allow Megaworld Hotels & Resorts to operate both local and global hotel brands across the country.

โ€œThis expansion supports our vision of attracting more tourists, conventions, and events to our developments,โ€ said Kevin L. Tan, president and CEO of Alliance Global Group, Megaworldโ€™s parent company. Megaworld CEO Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso added that the inclusion of global hotel brands will solidify the companyโ€™s lead in the Philippine hospitality sector and boost its contribution to the countryโ€™s tourism industry.

Earlier this year, Megaworld formalized its partnership with Accor to enhance and scale its hotel offerings, aligning with the companyโ€™s continued growth and international ambitions.
