Senator Win Gatchalian is calling for the creation of a “Build Back Better Fund” in the 2026 national budget to fast-track recovery and reconstruction in calamity-hit areas, possibly sourced from the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF). As chair of the Senate Committee on Finance, Gatchalian is also seeking increased allocations for rebuilding classrooms, restoring heritage sites, and providing permanent housing to displaced families.

Reaffirming his commitment to disaster-stricken communities, Gatchalian has pledged ₱11 million worth of rice donations, while Valenzuela City is contributing ₱8 million in cash assistance to affected areas including Cebu, Masbate, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Biliran, and Calbayog City.

“Let us work together to restore the dignity of families who lost everything. We’re not just rebuilding homes and structures—we’re rebuilding hope,” Gatchalian said.
