Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon and Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman inspected the SM North and North Avenue stations of the EDSA Busway, following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to shift towards commuter-centric transport infrastructure and fast-track the modernization of the EDSA Busway system.

Dizon announced that the EDSA Busway Rehabilitation Project will begin this year, aiming to improve station facilities and provide a more comfortable, efficient commuting experience for the over 250,000 daily passengers using the system.

All stations will soon be modeled after the SM North station, with upgraded amenities for commuters.

“Ang sinabi ng Pangulo sa kanyang podcast: Tama na ang pagiging car-centric. Dapat commuter-centric na tayo,” Dizon said. “Kaya dapat ayusin natin ang imprastruktura para sa mga komyuter.”

Phase 1 of the rehabilitation will cover four stations, with Phase 2 to follow, including improvements to PITX and Cubao stations.
