With a shared commitment to protecting marine wildlife and promoting coastal conservation, government workers, resort owners, and members of the local community joined forces in the release of 66 marine turtle hatchlings.
The activity, led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), took place along the beachfront of Funtasea Beach, where participants gathered to witness the hatchlings safely make their way to the sea.

DENR Regional Executive Director Ralph Pablo emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration among government agencies, local stakeholders, and coastal communities in safeguarding vulnerable marine species.
He noted that each hatchling released symbolizes a collective effort to protect biodiversity and ensure the long-term health of coastal ecosystems.
Meanwhile, DENR Zambales Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Marife Castillo highlighted the role of community participation in preserving marine life and supporting local tourism.
The DENR continues to call on the public to support marine turtle conservation by protecting nesting sites, avoiding disturbance to wildlife, and promptly reporting stranded or threatened marine species to authorities.
