Gov Nanay inspects dike road damage in Lubao following heavy flooding

Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda personally visited Sta. Rita, Lubao to assess the extent of the damage after a portion of the dike road collapsed due to the strong current from the Porac Gumain River.

“Look at the people who will be affected — their crops, their livelihood, their homes and properties. If this area gets washed out, what will happen to them?” the governor said, expressing concern over the impact of the disaster on local communities.

In response, Governor Pineda immediately recommended the installation of temporary protective barriers while pushing for a long-term, sustainable solution to prevent future damage.

She was joined in the inspection by Provincial Engineer Noli Pangan and Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Arthur Punsalan.

The Provincial Government, in coordination with the DPWH, NIA, PNP, and the local government of Lubao, continues to closely monitor the situation through the PDRRMC to ensure public safety.

Despite the challenges, Governor Pineda’s swift and compassionate leadership remains focused on protecting the welfare of every Kapampangan.
