The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) is set to lead the observance of National Arts Month (NAM) this February with a series of events across the Philippines.

This year’s theme, “Ani ng Sining: Katotohanan at Giting” (Fruits of the Arts: Truth and Bravery), highlights how the arts can speak truth, inspire courage, and foster peace and development. Seven art forms—Architecture, Cinema, Dance, Dramatic Arts, Literary Arts, Music, and Visual Arts—will be showcased in activities promoting both indigenous traditions and contemporary creativity.

The NAM launch at Rizal Park on February 1 will feature performances by the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe, UST Singers, Guiguiteno Dance Troupe, Echague Tribal performers, and the Philippine Ballet Theater, alongside LGBTQ+ community artists, highlighting the richness and diversity of Philippine arts.

Regional celebrations include:

• Luzon: Los Baños, Laguna (Feb. 18–20) – art workshops, discussions at ART Center, and theater performance at UP Los Baños.
• Visayas: Palo, Leyte – focus on climate justice and the connection between human development and environmental sustainability.
• Mindanao: Butuan City and Davao City – programs spotlighting local choreographers, visual artists, and filmmakers, including a special program for arts teachers and students.

At the launch press conference, NCCA Executive Director Eric Zerrudo announced that Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray will continue as NCCA Arts Ambassador, promoting arts and culture through programs such as Kultura 101 and Padayon: The NCCA Hour.
