Angeleño youth lead tree care drive in Sapang Bato

Youth volunteers from City College of Angeles (CCA) took part in a Tree Caring and Maintenance Activity in Barangay Sapang Bato, reinforcing efforts to promote environmental protection and sustainability.

Carrying the theme “Together for a Greener Tomorrow,” the initiative gathered Kabataang Angeleños in a hands-on effort focused not just on tree planting, but on the continued care and maintenance of existing trees.

The activity was conducted with the support of Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, alongside guidance from the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and the Angeles City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (ACDRRMO).

Organizers emphasized that sustained tree care is essential in preserving ecological balance, mitigating flooding, and helping address the impacts of climate change. The initiative also aimed to deepen environmental awareness among the youth and encourage long-term stewardship of natural resources.

The activity highlights the growing role of young Angeleños in advancing community-based environmental efforts across the city.
