Capitol opens new school buildings in Sasmuan, Bacolor

The Provincial Government of Pampanga continues to invest in educational infrastructure with the inauguration of new school buildings in the municipalities of Sasmuan and Bacolor on June 2, providing improved learning facilities for hundreds of students.

In Barangay Sta. Monica, Sasmuan, Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Mayor Catalina Cabrera, and Executive Assistant IV Angelina Blanco led the inauguration of newly constructed elementary and high school buildings funded through the Provincial Government’s Special Education Fund (SEF).

The provincial government allocated ₱11.66 million each for the two school buildings. The project is a significant development for the town, as the new facility serves as only the second inland high school in Sasmuan, enabling students to study closer to home and reducing travel time.

Vice Governor Pineda said the new building will help accommodate more students and support the continued development of education services in the municipality.

The project was made possible through the donation of a 3,000-square-meter lot for the elementary school and a 4,000-square-meter lot for the high school by Mayor Cabrera.

Meanwhile, in Barangay San Antonio, Bacolor, Governor Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Vice Governor Pineda, Mayor Eduardo “Diman” Datu, members of the Sangguniang Bayan, and Angelina Blanco led the blessing and inauguration of a new two-story Junior High School Building at San Antonio Integrated School.

Funded through a ₱11.2-million SEF allocation, the facility features six classrooms and is expected to accommodate more than 300 additional students in the coming school year.

Vice Governor Pineda emphasized the provincial government’s commitment to delivering quality projects while ensuring the responsible use of public funds. He noted that the project also includes the provision of classroom furniture such as desks and chairs.

School officials and teachers welcomed the new facilities, saying they will help address classroom shortages and create a more conducive learning environment for students.

The inauguration of the new school buildings reflects the Provincial Government’s continuing efforts to expand access to quality education and meet the growing needs of learners across Pampanga.
