The local government of Mexico, Pampanga immediately launched a clearing operation after floodwaters overflowed at San Lorenzo Bridge due to continuous rains brought by the southwest monsoon or Habagat.
Mayor Ruding Santos Gonzales said rising water levels and accumulated garbage blocking the bridge caused the water to spill into Barangay San Lorenzo and nearby Barangay San Antonio.
Gonzales ordered the immediate clearing operation, in coordination with Vice Mayor Doc Pangan and the Sangguniang Bayan, to remove the debris and help improve water flow.
Water levels in the area have since slightly subsided.
Gonzales urged residents to remain vigilant and prepared for possible evacuation should conditions worsen, emphasizing that safety must remain the top priority.
