Leading fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has been tapped as an ოფიციциал connectivity partner of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) for the Philippines’ hosting of key meetings of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
Under the partnership, Converge is delivering connectivity speeds ranging from 1 to 5 gigabits per second across meeting venues and key locations nationwide, ensuring seamless communication for delegates and organizers.
Converge CEO and co-founder Dennis Anthony Uy said the company is supporting the ASEAN meetings from airports to major venues, including the 48th ASEAN Summit scheduled this May at the Mactan Expo Center, where uninterrupted 5-gigabit connectivity will be provided.
DICT Secretary Henry Aguda underscored the importance of reliable internet connectivity in hosting the high-level regional event, noting that seamless digital infrastructure is critical to meeting international standards.
So far, Converge has activated connectivity in 11 sites across Metro Manila and Cebu. These include major venues such as NuStar Integrated Resort and Casino in Cebu, Diamond Hotel Manila, The Peninsula Manila, and Crimson Resort and Spa Boracay.
The enhanced network also supports around 650 preparatory ASEAN meetings conducted online, while the 48th ASEAN Summit will proceed as a face-to-face gathering of heads of state from member countries.
To further improve connectivity for arriving delegates, Converge has deployed 10 Gbps capacity across its access points in Terminals 1, 2, and 3 of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The Philippines’ hosting of ASEAN this year covers a wide range of meetings—from working group sessions to ministerial-level engagements—culminating in the summit of regional leaders.
