The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office III (DA-RFO III) convened government agencies, stakeholders, and agricultural partners for a four-day strategic planning workshop aimed at crafting the Central Luzon Agriculture Strategic Plan for 2029–2034.
Held from June 29 to July 2, the “Reframing Agricultural Governance: Strategic Planning Workshop for Sustainable Regional Development (2029–2034)” was led by the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division (PMED) to strengthen the region’s long-term development agenda for the agriculture sector.
The workshop gathered representatives from DA-RFO III’s operating units, national government agencies, local government units, farmers’ and fisherfolk organizations, and the academe to develop a six-year roadmap aligned with national goals while addressing the needs of farmers, fisherfolk, and other stakeholders in Central Luzon.
Participants conducted assessments of the region’s agricultural landscape, identified key challenges and opportunities, and formulated strategic priorities, programs, roadmaps, and key performance indicators that will guide the implementation of the regional agriculture plan from 2029 to 2034.
The workshop also emphasized governance, risk management, resource planning, monitoring and evaluation, stakeholder engagement, and communication strategies to ensure the effective implementation of the plan.
At the conclusion of the activity, participants underscored the importance of sustained collaboration among DA-RFO III, partner agencies, local government units, academic institutions, and farmers’ and fisherfolk organizations in advancing a resilient and sustainable agriculture sector in Central Luzon.
