Secretary Giovanni ‘Banoy’ Lopez and other officials of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) inspected the damage sustained by the General Santos International Airport following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao on June 8.

The airport remains closed to commercial flights as authorities continue damage assessment and safety checks.
However, the facility remains open to government and humanitarian flights to ensure the uninterrupted delivery of relief and emergency assistance in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
