The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 3 (DSWD-3) has strongly condemned individuals allegedly taking advantage of public utility vehicle (PUV) drivers amid the ongoing distribution of cash relief assistance.
In a statement, the agency clarified that the Cash Relief Assistance being provided to qualified drivers is free of charge, stressing that no fees are being collected for any of its social intervention programs.
DSWD-3 also warned against the use and production of fake identification cards, emphasizing that such acts are illegal and punishable under existing laws.
The agency urged the public to remain vigilant, report suspicious activities, and avoid spreading or believing misinformation and fake news that may exploit beneficiaries both online and offline.
Meanwhile, DSWD-3 said it continues to streamline its processes in coordination with local government units to ensure that assistance reaches legitimate beneficiaries. The agency is also actively validating and cleaning its list of recipients to improve the efficiency and integrity of the program.
Officials emphasized that through cooperation and transparency, the government aims to deliver aid effectively while upholding accountability in assisting those in need.
