Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda, together with DOH Secretary Edwin Mercado and Nanay Partylist Rep. Florabel Yatco, personally visited the Center for Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine of the Jose B. Lingad Memorial General Hospital (JBLMGH) on Saturday to check on patients being treated for dengue, leptospirosis and other illnesses.

Some patients, including those with infectious diseases, were placed in isolation rooms for closer monitoring and care by the medical team.

JBLMGH Medical Center Chief II Dr. Monserrat Chichioco said the hospital, which has a capacity of about 1,000 beds, has allocated facilities for patients with leptospirosis. More than 60 patients from various parts of Central Luzon are currently admitted due to the disease.

Hospital officials assured that adequate rooms, medicines, medical supplies and hemodialysis machines are available for patients who may develop serious complications.

The provincial government, meanwhile, continues to provide assistance beyond medical care, with financial aid available to qualified families through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
