MABALACAT CITY — Mayor Atty. Geld Aquino led the planting of 100 balacat trees and 200 fruit-bearing trees in Sitio Malupa, Barangay Calumpang, as part of the Arbor Day 2025 celebration themed “Buhay ang Kagubatan: Aksyon ng Mamamayan, Tugon sa Kalikasan.”
This greening initiative was done in partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) headed by Engr. Jesusa Santiago, and the City Agriculture Office.
In his message, Mayor Geld emphasized the importance of striking a balance between development and environmental protection. “Economic growth comes with environment preservation, so we have to do our part,” he said.
Joining the activity were Hon. Councilors Vicoy Ong and Patricia Acorda, Police Lt. Col. Efren David, and the officials of Barangay Calumpang led by the Punong Barangay and Sangguniang Barangay.
Various sectors also took part, including Park Inn, NU Clark, Citicore, TECO Locators, the Philippine Air Force, JCI, SMX, and the PNP Clark K9 Unit.
