NYC to youngsters: join our programs

The National Youth Commission (NYC) is urging youngsters in Central Luzon to participate in its programs, projects, and activities.

NYC Pampanga Area Office Cluster Head Rose Chell Anne Rojas stated that since the opening of their office in the province in January, they have intensified their efforts in developing policies addressing the concerns and issues of the youth.

“NYC is here to help you in developing your skills and your potentials; widen your network; and mold you to become patriotic youth, towards realizing your aspirations in life,” she said.

The commission is conducting various consultations, webinars, and workshops geared towards youth development, in partnership with national government agencies, and other stakeholders.

Rojas emphasized that the commission continues to be a voice and advocate of the youth by crafting policies on youth protection and participation; building and sustaining partnership between the youth and the government; and fostering youth participation in community development.

“Since we are still facing the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the programs, projects, and activities of the NYC were conducted virtually to ensure the safety of our youth, and ensure that the services provided for the young people are still continuous,” she added.

Among the programs conducted by the commission is the National Youth Parliament which is a biennial gathering of the youth across the country for them to have first-hand experience in crafting bills, resolutions, and policies.

It also provides training to Sangguniang Kabataan officials, local youth development officers, and members of youth, and youth-serving organizations.

The NYC Pampanga Area Office caters to the regions of Cagayan Valley and Central Luzon. It can be reached through nycpampanga@gmail.com or 0929-575-0350. (PIA 3)
