President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. visited the National Academy of Sports (NAS) in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac, where he inspected the facilities and met young sports scholars undergoing specialized training and education.
Accompanied by Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara, President Marcos checked on the first batch of NAS scholars, including student-athletes in table tennis, as the academy continues to develop future Filipino champions through quality basic education and world-class sports training.
During the visit, the President met Khevine Cruz of Manila, a table tennis standout who won two championships in the World Table Tennis Youth Contender Series in Dubai in 2024 and Palawan in 2025, and earned a gold medal in the United States Open in Las Vegas in 2024.

Established under Republic Act No. 11470 in 2020, NAS aims to nurture the talents of young Filipino athletes while preparing them for international competitions and supporting the administration’s goal of making the Philippines a global sports powerhouse.
