A wanted suspect in multiple rape cases was arrested less than 24 hours after the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) issued a public appeal through social media platforms.
Joint operatives from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 3, City of San Fernando Police Station, CIDG Pampanga, Regional Special Operations Group 3, Regional Intelligence Unit 3, and Provincial Intelligence Unit Pampanga arrested William Meria Corre at a commercial establishment parking lot in Barangay San Jose, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, at around 4:10 p.m. on July 9, 2026.
Corre was apprehended through warrants of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 49 in Guagua, Pampanga, for multiple counts of Rape and Rape by Sexual Assault under the Revised Penal Code, as amended by Republic Act No. 8353.
Authorities said the suspect was also linked to alleged robbery incidents and acts of lasciviousness in Pampanga, prompting intensified efforts for his immediate arrest.
PRO3 Director PBGEN Jess B. Mendez credited the successful operation to public cooperation and coordinated police efforts, emphasizing the importance of community participation in helping authorities locate wanted individuals.
He assured that PRO3 will continue its campaign against criminality and strengthen partnerships with the public to maintain peace and security in Central Luzon.
