BSP’S FINALIZES DESIGN FOR NEW CLARK CITY COMPLEX

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) New Clark City Project has cleared a major milestone: Aidea Inc., the appointed architectural and engineering consultant, has completed the Detailed Architectural and Engineering Design (DAED) documents. With these finalized plans, BSP is set to begin procuring a general contractor for construction.

The project’s conceptual design earned global recognition in 2022, winning an Architecture MasterPrize under the Institutional Architecture category. Once built, the new BSP complex in Capas, Tarlac will serve as a backup headquarters—supporting the government’s decongestion of Metro Manila and strengthening business continuity and disaster preparedness.

Improved rail access is also in the pipeline. Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon reaffirmed his commitment to finish the northern section of the North–South Commuter Railway before the end of the Marcos Jr. administration, greatly enhancing connectivity to New Clark City. A feasibility study on extending the railway from Clark International Airport to the BSP site is underway, with completion targeted for August 2025 and a loan agreement expected by year-end.

In parallel, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has signed a contract with a South Korean firm to build nearby housing for BSP employees and guests, ensuring that the new complex will be complemented by quality residential facilities.

With design and supporting infrastructure advancing on schedule, the BSP New Clark City complex is poised to become a resilient and sustainable hub for the country’s central bank operations.
