The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) and the Provincial Government of Bataan have officially broken ground for a new โ‚ฑ10.136-million public park at the Capitol Compound Oval in Balanga City.

The 3,040-square-meter park, to be built in front of the old Provincial Capitol Building, a recognized national heritage site, will soon transform into a green and inclusive space for the public. Funded through DBMโ€™s Green Green Green Program, the project underscores the national governmentโ€™s vision of building sustainable and livable communities.

โ€œThis project symbolizes the governmentโ€™s commitment to promoting a comfortable and livable environment for all, while upholding responsible development and sustainable green practices,โ€ said DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, noting that the park is part of a broader masterplan.

Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III expressed gratitude to DBM for supporting Bataanโ€™s efforts to create healthier and safer public spaces. โ€œOur goal is to make the lives of our people better by creating open spaces they can enjoy with their families and community. Asahan niyo po na susuporta ang ating lalawigan sa mga ganitong klaseng program,โ€ he affirmed.

Once completed, the park will feature landscaped areas, walking paths, shaded benches, a childrenโ€™s playground, and solar-powered light postsโ€”designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable environment while improving Bataanโ€™s urban landscape and sustainability efforts.

The Green Green Green Program is DBMโ€™s flagship initiative supporting local governments in developing open spaces such as parks, plazas, and walkways to promote livable and resilient communities across the country.
