MAYOR LAZATIN EXTENDS DEADLINE FOR BUSINESS TAX PAYMENT

The administration of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. has extended the deadline for business tax payments for the renewal of business permits without penalties, now allowing local establishments until February 20, 2025, to complete their renewals.

The extension was formalized through Resolution No. 11634, S-2025, which was signed by Angeles City Vice Mayor Ma. Vicenta Vega-Cabigting. The resolution was sponsored primarily by City Councilors Atty. Arvin Suller and Alexander Indiongco, with additional sponsorship from Councilors Edgardo Pamintuan Jr., Jesus Sangil, Marino Bañola, Danilo Lacson, and JC Aguas.

Mayor Lazatin strongly advocated for the extension to give local businesses adequate time to meet the requirements and ensure their continued legal operation within the city.

“This is part of the government’s support for our businesses, which play a key role in the ongoing development of Angeles City,” Mayor Lazatin said.

As of January 16, 2025, the Business Permit and Licensing Division (BPLD), led by Enrico Romero, has processed 9,474 business renewal applications, with 3,376 permits (35.6%) already issued. Romero expects a significant increase in permit issuances as a result of the extended deadline.

“The renewal process will remain efficient, as will the issuance of new business permits, as we continue to support our local entrepreneurs,” Romero stated.

Business permit renewals are conducted at the BPLD office in Angeles City Hall, Pulung Maragul. Documentary requirements for renewal include Barangay Clearance, Basis for Computing Taxes (Business Capitalization), and Community Tax Certificate.

Romero also clarified that the Barangay Clearance requirement is now integrated at the BPLD office, provided an occupancy permit is not needed.

“Mayor Lazatin wants to ensure that the renewal and issuance process is quick and convenient, so as not to disrupt the local economy,” Romero added.

Additionally, the BPLD reported issuing 115 new business permits as of January 16, 2025.
