Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr. led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for four newly constructed, state-of-the-art computer laboratories in public schools across the city, marking another milestone in his administration’s ongoing ICT Modernization Program on Tuesday, 14 January 2025.
The schools that unveiled their upgraded computer labs on January 14 include Sapangbato National High School and Malabanias Integrated School, each featuring two newly equipped rooms. In addition to these, two more computer labs at Governor Rafael Lazatin Integrated School — Senior & Junior High School, and three additional labs at Rafael Lazatin Memorial High School — Junior & Senior High School will be inaugurated on 15 and 16 January 2025.
These computer labs, fully funded by the city government, are part of Mayor Lazatin’s commitment to enhancing the quality of education through technology, a key promise made during his campaign. With 40 computers in each lab, the facilities are designed to improve the digital learning experience and ensure students have access to modern, high-quality educational resources.

Mayor Lazatin was joined by Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, City Councilors Atty. Arvin Suller, Marino Bañola, Edu Pamintuan, Alexander Indiongco, Cris Cortez, JC Aguas, Raco Del Rosario, and Jesus Sangil, as well as key officials such as ABC President Danilo Nacu, Chief Adviser IC Calaguas, Secretary to the Mayor Raffy Lazatin, Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel, and other city officials. Department of Education Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Engr. Edgard Domingo and General Services Officer Evangeline Malonzo were also present at the ceremony.
In addition to the 40 computers, each lab is furnished with computer tables, chairs, printers, air conditioning units, smart televisions, and fiber optic connections to ensure fast and efficient internet access.
These new computer laboratories are a continuation of the city’s efforts to address the student-to-computer ratio, with 16 state-of-the-art labs now fully operational under Mayor Lazatin’s leadership. Last year, Angeles City High School and Northville 15 Integrated School each opened three computer labs, while Angeles City National Trade School and Angeles City National High School each unveiled two.
This initiative underscores the city’s dedication to improving its educational infrastructure and equipping students with the skills necessary to thrive in the digital age.
