Following the intensified surveillance due to the World Health Organization’s declaration of mpox (formerly monkeypox) as a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), the DOH recorded a new case of mpox in the Philippines.
Prior to this, the last case was reported in December 2023. All previous cases were isolated, contained, and recovered from the disease.
The Department of Health (DOH) calls for the protection of the whole family against the disease and misinformation about it.
