Valenzuela City is set to benefit from a new entry point to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), designed to alleviate traffic congestion in key areas. The NLEX Lingunan Southbound Entry, a 491-meter-long one-lane ramp, was inaugurated by Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian, Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Regulation Division Chief Joz Carlos Ordillano, and NLEX Officer-in-Charge and MPTC Chief Finance Officer Luis Reñon.
This new entry, which opens this month, will improve traffic flow at the heavily congested Valenzuela/Paso de Blas Interchange, a critical junction where several local roads converge. It is expected to provide relief to nearby barangays such as Lawang Bato, Lingunan, Punturin, Canumay East, and Canumay West.

Mayor Gatchalian highlighted the significance of the project for Valenzuela, a growing industrial and commercial hub, emphasizing that the new entry will improve mobility for residents and businesses. “This new access point will offer a faster, more convenient route for motorists in the city,” Gatchalian said, extending his gratitude to NLEX and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) for their collaboration.
NLEX Officer-in-Charge Luis Reñon shared that the project was completed one month ahead of schedule, finishing in just four months instead of the planned five. He also expressed the company’s commitment to expanding access points along NLEX to further ease congestion and support the ongoing development of surrounding cities and municipalities.

The Lingunan Southbound Entry marks the fifth access point in Valenzuela City, joining existing entries at Karuhatan, Mindanao Ave, Paso de Blas, and Lawang Bato. With this new development, NLEX continues to enhance its infrastructure to better serve motorists and help facilitate smoother traffic flow across the region.
The project is a joint initiative of NLEX, the City Government of Valenzuela, and the Toll Regulatory Board, contributing to the ongoing efforts to improve traffic management and road safety across the Metro Pacific Tollways network.
