Converge ICT Solutions Inc. announced the successful landing of the 20,000-kilometer Bifrost Cable System in Davao, marking a major milestone in the Philippines’ digital infrastructure and global connectivity.

The Bifrost Cable, the first trans-Pacific subsea system in over 20 years to take a new route between the U.S. and Southeast Asia, will be housed in the Davao International Cable Landing Station — owned and operated by Converge. The system connects the Philippines directly to the U.S. via Guam, Indonesia, and Singapore, promising ultra-fast, low-latency internet for today’s high-demand digital landscape.

“This milestone is not just technological, it’s transformational,” said Converge CEO and Co-Founder Dennis Anthony Uy. “We’re enabling faster global communications, unlocking trade opportunities, and positioning the Philippines as a rising digital hub in Asia.”

With the Bifrost system, Converge’s network will support multi-terabit bandwidth capacity—ideal for hyperscalers, cloud platforms, AI services, fintech, gaming, and e-commerce. It also introduces disaster-resilient routing for uninterrupted service even during natural disruptions.

Uy added that demand for capacity from local and international ISPs has already surged. “We’re confident this investment will pay off, not only for us, but for the entire country.”

The new infrastructure is expected to attract hyperscale investors, boost data center development in Mindanao, and help the Philippines become a critical player in cross-border digital trade.

“When Bifrost goes live, we’re not just lighting up fiber—we’re powering the future of the digital Philippines,” Uy emphasized.
