The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) presented three major infrastructure projects to the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, Inc. (AMCHAM) โNorth Luzon during the groupโs visit to the Freeport on September 17, 2025.
SBMA Senior Deputy Administrator for Business and Investment Renato Lee III welcomed AMCHAM President Denise H. R. Molintas and members of the delegation at the SBMA corporate boardroom, where he outlined the projects designed to boost Subicโs role as a premier investment and tourism hub. Department of Transportation (DOTr) Planning Service Director Felicisimo C. Pangilinan Jr. also joined the discussions, sharing insights on nationwide initiatives to support business growth in Luzon.
Among the projects is a โฑ1.2-billion cruise ship berth at the Redondo Peninsula, featuring two berths with quay lengths of 380 meters and 350 meters. The development also includes an โฑ8.3-billion reclamation project for a modern cruise passenger terminal, leisure facilities, and a commercial zone.
The SBMA also plans to redevelop Boton Wharf into a 12.8-hectare terminal with a 920-meter berthing length and five 5,000-square-meter warehouses. The project will include administration offices, staging areas, improved road networks, and shore power facilities.
Additionally, a 30-hectare multipurpose terminal is being planned at Redondo Peninsula. Still in its preparatory stage, the project will feature a 600-meter quay, 12-meter depth, warehouses, an administration building, truck parking, weighing scales, worker facilities, and support offices.
Lee said these projects aim to strengthen Subicโs position as a logistics, trade, and tourism hub in the region.
