Mekeni Food Corporation once again celebrated the power of volunteerism, community, and education as it honored 154 young achievers at this yearโs Galing ng Batang Mekeni awarding ceremony in Porac, Pampanga.
More than just a recognition of academic excellence, the program reflects Mekeniโs deep-rooted culture of ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ก and volunteerism, with employees, parents, and the companyโs leadership coming together to uplift the next generation. This yearโs awardees include 74 elementary pupils, 46 high school students, 30 senior high school students, and 4 college studentsโall children of Mekeni employees who exemplify hard work, perseverance, and values formation.

โEducation has always been at the core of Mekeniโs mission because thatโs where our journey began,โ shared Mekeni President Pruds Garcia. โThrough ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ก๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐, we honor not only the students but also the tireless parentsโour employeesโwhose daily sacrifices make these achievements possible.โ
Mekeniโs advocacy is inspired by its founders, who were educators themselves, and whose vision of community-building continues to guide the company. The eventโs success was made possible by the collaborative efforts of volunteer employees who organized and participated in the ceremony, ensuring that each child and family felt recognized and celebrated.
For awardee Mary Camille Santos, the recognition was a shared victory: โThis award is not just for me, but also for my parents who work hard every day. I hope one day I can also give back to others, just as Mekeni gives to us.โ
Assistant Vice President for HR and Exports Marilou Uy emphasized, โThis is not just about awards, but about investing in people. Our founders taught us that when we nurture education and community, we create changemakers who will serve and lead with compassion.โ
Now in its 18th year, ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ต๐๐ก๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ remains a shining example of how corporate volunteerism and shared purpose can inspire hope and successโone student, one family, and one community at a time.
